The inside scoop with USBI Speaker Showcase speaker, Diane Demetre
Ahead of the show we caught up with entrepreneur and entertainer, Diane Demetre, on the insights she’s sharing this week at IMEX America, as part of the Unique Speakers Bureau International Speaker Showcase.
You’re known as an award-winning author, speaker and leadership coach. How has your career shaped the insights you’ll be sharing at IMEX America?
I’ve spent over 40 years working in entertainment, business and leadership. Whether running companies or directing Vegas-style productions, I’ve learned that true leadership isn’t about titles—it’s about the mindset, energy and skills we bring to every endeavor. At IMEX America, I’ll share simple, practical ways leaders activate that kind of self-mastery and impact.
Your background spans entertainment, business and personal development. How have these experiences informed your perspective on leadership?
Each chapter of my career taught me something different about leadership. Entertainment showed me the power of presence. Business revealed that real success comes from the synergy and strengths of your people. Personal development showed me that growth begins within—the foundation on which all true leadership is built. Great leadership blends performance, purpose and people in equal measure.
You’ve worked with CEOs, entrepreneurs and teams across industries. What patterns have you noticed in how people unlock their potential?
No matter the industry or position, I see the same pattern: people unlock their potential when they master three things—mindset, energy and skills. With the right mindset, they see opportunities; with the right energy, they inspire action; and with the right skills, they deliver results. Leaders activate their potential when they deliberately align mindset, energy and skills.
Your education sessions at IMEX America promise to explore leadership and how to bridge the generational divide. What can attendees expect to walk away with both practically and emotionally?
Attendees will leave with a fresh lens on the four generations brought to life through humorous dog metaphors and a clear playbook to align strengths around a shared vision. Most importantly, they’ll discover how Generational Synergy™ begins with taking responsibility for the part they play in workplace friction, unlocking cultures where every generation feels seen, heard and valued.
Why is bridging the generational divide especially relevant to the business events industry right now?
The business events industry is all about igniting connection and impact. With four generations now working side by side, bridging the divide has never been more urgent. By activating Generational Synergy™, we transform friction into fuel—creating events that spark engagement, unite diverse voices and energize organizations long after the closing session.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone coming to hear you speak for the first time, what would it be?
Come with an open mind and be ready for more than a talk—it’s an activation. Expect sparkle, high energy, fresh perspectives and practical takeaways that challenge you to think, feel and act differently. Be ready for a little razzle dazzle to activate your state and change your fate.
Apart from your own sessions of course, what are you most looking forward to at IMEX America 2025? And what are you most looking forward to about coming to Las Vegas?
I’m excited to meet new people, expand my networks and activate fresh collaborations. That’s the true power of IMEX. On a personal note, Las Vegas holds a special place in my heart, having worked alongside, Las Vegas director Jerry Jackson in Australia. I can’t wait to soak in the energy of the Strip, revel in some fabulous shows and tick off a special item on my bucket list—speaking in the United States.
