Sea Island, located off the southeastern coast of Georgia, is situated halfway between Savannah, GA and Jacksonville, FL. The resort is easily accessible from three public airports: 60-minute drive from Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), 75-minute drive from Savannah International Airport (SAV), and 20 minutes from the Brunswick Golden Isles Airport (BQK). McKinnon St. Simons Island Airport is a private airport located 10 minutes from The Cloister and 5 minutes from The Lodge. Sea Island transportation is readily available from all airports.
The Cloister at Sea Island is a Mediterranean-style structure that was designed by renowned Palm Beach architect Addison Mizner in 1928. The original building welcomed guests from around the world for 75 years, until 2003 when the new, Mizner-inspired structure was designed by architects Peter Capone and Michael Ramsey and built to honor, yet update, the original structure. Located at the end of St. Simons Island’s historic Avenue of Oaks, The Lodge at Sea Island is the premiere hideaway reminiscent of an English country manor. Mizner’s design also influenced The Inn at Sea Island, located two miles from Sea Island and four miles from The Lodge and Sea Island.
